Recent PR Nightmares and How to Avoid it in your Company

More notably the Adidas CEO apologized on behalf of the marketing team after they sent a grossly worded email to customers titled, “Congrats, you survived the Boston Marathon!” What a PR nightmare! Not only is this insensitive, it is outright tone-deaf. The crazy thing is they are not the only ones committing social suicide in the media these days. Maybe it’s the Pandemic, maybe it’s Maybelline?

Diversity is one of the ways this issue can be solved. How? If different perspectives are being represented, then someone in a decision making role is more likely to spot insensitive, potentially stock-tanking comments and actions put froth by highly visible companies.

Crisis Management PR is going to be booming in the coming years as we have ushered in an era of social policing.
